Susan L. Switzer, age 77, a resident at Highland View Health Care in Brockway; died on Friday, August 7, 2026. Born on February 22, 1949 in DuBois, PA; she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Betty Cook Uplinger. On September 25, 1976 she was married to Robert “Bob” Switzer and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2023. Retired, Sue had been employed as a Home Health Care Aid, and she also worked for many many years at the Tasty Freeze in Brockway. She was a member at the Brockway Church of God. Sue enjoyed reading, being out and spending time enjoying nature, watching animals and wildlife and especially all of the cats and dogs she had over the years. She is survived by daughters Laura (Monti) Stratton of Bethel Park, PA; Rhonda (Kendall Perrin) Blose of DuBois; a sister Audrey Fremer of Brockway; a brother Michael (Karen) Uplinger of Brookville, PA; grandchildren Monti (Lukas) Stratton, Rachel (Seth) Stratton, Eric Blose and Alexandra (Jacob) Beers. Sue is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 13 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Dave Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in the Donahey Hill Cemetery at Bell Town.
