Ronald Claude Truitt, 81, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023, surrounded by his family while a resident at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA. Ron was born on June 21, 1941, to the late Claude O. and Alverta M. (Niebel) Truitt in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated with the class of 1959 from Oakmont Area High School. He continued his education and completed training to become a licensed Public Accountant. He began his accounting career in Pittsburgh, before moving to Reynoldsville in 1972, where he continued to grow his business. Ron was also the former owner of Western Auto and a former partner in TK Auto Gallery with his son Lou. Ron married Janet Irene Jodon on July 10, 1965; Janet preceded him in passing on February 9, 2016. Ron had a strong faith in God and strived to live by Christian values. He was a social member of the Reynoldsville Fire Department and a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants. Ron was very outgoing and could get along with anyone he met. He was an avid sprint car, dirt racing, and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed hunting, reading and watching westerns, and also loved history. He was a firm believer in the saying, “Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Above all else, he loved his family, especially his grandsons and his rottweilers. Ron is survived by four children: Aaron (Christine) Truitt, Louis (Cheri) Kerr, Candance Kerr, and April Kerr; and three grandsons; Zachary Truitt, Ian Truitt, and Seth Kerr, all of Reynoldsville. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 4pm to 6pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will take place, also at the funeral home, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, beginning at 11am and officiated by Dan Helenek. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Reynoldsville Fire Department, PO Box 3, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. Interment will take place at Beulah Cemetery, Reynoldsville, Jefferson Co., PA.
