Robert “Red” Wells, Age 79 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, November 22, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on September 26, 1946 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Theodore and Mary (Hickman) Wells.
On February 21, 1981, he married his wife of 44 years, Pauline “Polly” (Charnick) Wells. She survives.
Red was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve.
He worked for over 30 years as a union laborer and steward for the Local 910 out of Johnstown until his retirement in 2001.
Red was a member of the Pulaski Club, Sykesville Eagles, VFW Post 813 and the Olympic Athletic Club. He also belonged to the American Legion and the Moose Club in Clarence, PA. Red had raced stock cars at the Hummingbird and Clearfield Speedway. He enjoyed camping, riding ATVs with family and friends, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR events.
Red is survived by two daughters (Mandy Torrell & her husband Joseph and Nicole Pompeii and her husband Steve Jr., both of DuBois, PA), one granddaughter (Morgan Torrell) and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Red was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Theodore “Teddy” Wells who preceded him in death on May 30, 2020, and two brothers (Ralph and Richard “Dick” Wells).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
