Robert "Bobby" H. Nichol, 59, of Ebensburg Center, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Born in DuBois, Pennsylvania, Bobby was the son of the late William K. Nichol Jr. and Ruth Liedl Nichol.
Bobby was an active child who loved riding his bicycle, jumping on the trampoline, and swimming. He enjoyed attending Camp Confidence, Camp Friendship, Frank Hetrick's classes, and participating in the Special Olympics each spring. His joyful spirit and enthusiasm for life brought happiness to those around him.
Bobby was dearly loved by his family and is survived by his siblings: Laura (Gary) Parker of Charlotte, North Carolina; William K. Nichol III (Karen) of DuBois, Pennsylvania; Andrew J. Nichol, Esq. of Lakewood, Ohio; John Nichol (Teresa Gooch) of Huntington, West Virginia; Catherine (Kirk) Neal of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; David Nichol (Cherri) of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; Mary (Kenneth) Sims of Cortland, Ohio; Nancy Yaggi of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; and Michael Nichol of DuBois, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his aunt, Mary Hannah of Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his infant brother, Richard P. Nichol, and his brother-in-law, Robert Yaggi.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Spirit Parish at St. Catherine of Siena with Fr. John Malthaner as celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Bobby spent his later years at Polk Center and Ebensburg Center, where he received exceptional care, kindness, and support from the staff who became his extended family. His family is also deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by the team at Select Specialty Hospital during his final days.
