Richard C. Knapp
1935-2025

Richard C. Knapp, longtime resident of Bronson, FL, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Richard was born on August 23, 1935, to the late Walter and Sarah Helen (Thomas) Knapp, in Brookville, PA. He graduated from Brookville Area High School with the Class of 1954. Richard proudly served with the United States Army in Paris from 1955 to 1957. He was a Cryptographer and ranked Specialist Third Class. He also received a good conduct medal. He worked for G. C. Murphy and Walmart. He also drove for Brinks Armored Vehicle until age 71. Richard loved to go to church and was a member of the Williston Church of God. He enjoyed RV camping, good gospel and county music, theater, traveling, and going to the Flea Markets. He also enjoyed mechanics with cars and trucks. Most importantly he loved to spend time with his daughters, grandchildren, and dogs. Richard is survived by two daughters: Marcia (Daniel Drake) Strobel and Kelly Knapp; grandchildren: Victorian (Caleb) Simmons, Scott B. Strobel, Emma Halteman, Sarah Halteman; great-grandchildren: Conrey Arthur Simmons and Elbianna Joan Simmons. He is also survived by brother: Dale (Louise) Knapp; and nieces and nephews: Michael (Carla) Knapp, Christina (David) Lawson, Barbie Knapp; Aunt: Phoebe Gelnette; and numerous cousins. Richard is preceded in passing by his parents and several aunts and uncles. Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 10am to 12pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held immediately following the viewing, beginning at 12pm. Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
