Patricia A. “Pat” Varacallo, age 95 of Sykesville, PA died Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Christ the King Manor.
Born on August 2, 1930 in Corry, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Oleck) Yakulis.
On May 23, 1952 she married Albert L. Varacallo, Sr. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1993.
She retired from Sykesville Elementary School in 1993 as a secretary after 25 years of service.
Pat was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Sykesville, PA for many years where she was active in church affairs. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and was a Salvation Army volunteer for many years. Pat loved to exercise, go for walks, vacation at the beach, and keep her home and garden in pristine condition. Above all, it was time spent with her family and friends that she cherished the most.
Pat is survived by two daughters (Kathleen P. Manganaro and her husband Lawrence of New Kensington, PA, and Darlene Shurman and her husband Dr. Don of Allison Park, PA), seven grandchildren (Michael Kirschner and his wife Dolly, Natalie Milliron and her husband Michael, Dr. Christopher Varacallo and his wife Elissa, Dr. Matthew Varacallo and his wife Stephanie, Albert Varacallo and his wife Cassy, Dominic Varacallo and his wife Andrea, and Dr. Patricia Parisot and her husband Lorenz), and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son and his wife (Albert Varacallo, Jr. and Luanne (Cavalier) Varacallo), and an infant daughter (Mary Ann Varacallo), three brothers (Earl, Joseph Jr., and infant Paul Yakulis), and three sisters (Teresa Brantley, Dorothy Vitarelli, and Marie Strunk).
A private family visitation will be held at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 10 AM from Holy Spirit Parish at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Fr. John Malthaner as celebrant.
Burial will be in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to any Pro-Life organization.
