1954-2026
A faithful and fervent servant of God, Marian Stella Hoover, 71, of DuBois, Pennsylvania has entered the kingdom of Heaven on July 12, 2026 with family by her side. She was born on August 22, 1954, in DuBois, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Zavatsky) Boboige.
Marian attended Nativity of the Mother God Byzantine Catholic Church in DuBois Pennsylvania. As a parishioner of ‘Nativity’, Marian served as a Catechism teacher for many years teaching elementary school and a member of Our Lady’s Blue Army. In addition, she enjoyed attending the weekly Holy Rosary and contributing homemade ethnic food to church gatherings. Marian had this uncanny ability to remember holy feast days throughout the year and teach others about Saints in the Catholic faith.
Marian was a selfless, humble, and strong woman. Those who have had the privilege of knowing her knew she valued family. She honored her parents and raised four children with a tremendous amount of patience, grace, love, and pride. Marian enjoyed watching her children grow up by attending baseball, basketball, tennis, and football games.
Marian was a loyal and dedicated employee. She worked at Loree Footwear Company (with her mother and sister) and Jackson China (with her father), Riverside Warehouse – General Merchandise, Huntington Foam (with her sister), Brockway Glass, and Paris Cleaners (with her sister).
She is survived by one brother, Deacon Paul Boboige of Falls Creek; four sons Steve (Cristina) Hoover of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeff (Heather) Hoover of Hyde, PA, Mark Hoover (Candace) of Curwensville, PA, and Greg Hoover (Alyson) of Carlisle, PA. Marian leaves many beloved grandchildren – Adriana, Anabella, Kellan, Carter, Gabby, Berklee, Colyn, Cayden, Luke, and Kesia. She is survived by her ex-husband, James Hoover.
Marian was preceded in death by siblings Ronald Boboige, Thomas Boboige, Eileen Annarino, Frank Boboige, and nephew Ron Boboige.
