Margaret L. “Peggy” Zaffuto, Age 95 of Sykesville, PA died Friday, April 17, 2026 at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.
Born on August 7, 1930 in Rose Township, Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Joy (Engle) Carberry.
On June 8, 1957, she married her husband of 49 years, Samuel C. Zaffuto. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2006.
Peggy was a homemaker and had previously worked for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, and found great peace and relaxation in the outdoors. Peggy was well known for her beautiful flower garden and her green thumb. Above all, she held a deep and quiet faith in God and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She is survived by six children (Samuel J. Zaffuto and his wife Angela of Sykesville, PA, Konnie Flounlacker of Landisville, PA, Joseph Zaffuto of Sykesville, PA, Michael Zaffuto and his wife Joi of Brookville, PA, and Mark Zaffuto and Kara Zaffuto, both of Sykesville, PA), seven grandchildren( Kevin Flounlacker and his wife Laura, Zachary Flounlacker and his wife Rachel, Morgan Zaffuto and his wife Angie, and Jenessa, Maria, Michael, and Anthony Zaffuto), and seven great grandchildren (Waylon, Henry and Conrad Zaffuto, and Hadley, Leighton, Violet, and Parker Flounlacker).
She was preceded in death by her son in law (John Flounlacker), two sisters (Pearl Guthrie and Jeanne Carberry), and a brother (James Carberry).
The family would like to thank the staff of the Jefferson Manor for their loving care.
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 10 a.m. from Holy Spirit Parish at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Sykesville with Fr. John Malthaner as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.

The Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
