Leslie A. “Les” Shaffer, age 85, an Egypt Road Brockway, PA resident, died on Thursday November 27, 2025 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born in Hazen, PA on September 14, 1940 he was the son of the late Fred A. and Pearl Irvine Shaffer. Retired, Les had been employed at Brockway Pressed Metals. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and was deployed and took part in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Les was a member of the Warsaw Sportsmen’s Club and the Beechton Beagle Club. If ever there was a simple man that lived a simple life it was Les. He enjoyed visits with family and friends, and kept himself busy working on his farm and the upkeep that comes with farm machinery. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially rabbit hunting with his foxhounds and beagles. Les is survived by a sister Linda Armstrong of Brockway; a brother Samuel Shaffer of Hazen and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Lawrence Paul (Sue) Shaffer of DuBois, PA. Les’s parents became guardians of “L.P.” at a very young age, and he has affectionately been looked at as a cousin/brother all of his life. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by 2 infant brothers Donald and Devere Shaffer. Visitation will be on Monday December 1st from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway, and again from 1 PM to 2 PM. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM also at the funeral home with Pastor Kelly Trozzo officiating. Burial will be in the Temple Cemetery at Hazen.
