Lena C. Volpe, age 98 of Penfield, PA, died Friday, November 7, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on December 25, 1926 in Weedville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Josephine (Matello) Carobine.
On November 15, 1947 she married Jack J. Volpe. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1982.
Lena was a homemaker and a self-employed seamstress, working out of her home for many years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, and especially enjoyed flower gardening and polka dancing. Above all, she loved to take care of her family.
Lena is survived by her four children (Janet Dinsmore of Penfield, PA, Jack Volpe of Clearfield, PA, Greg Volpe and his wife Rosanne of Falls Creek, PA and David Volpe and his wife Jonell of DuBois, PA), seven grandchildren (Marc Dinsmore and Angela Dinsmore Slowikowski, Sara Rubly, Joseph, Zach, Alexandra and Nicholas Volpe), two great grandchildren (Garrett and Landon Slowikowski), and two sisters (Ann Facchine of DuBois, PA and Betty Georgino of St. Marys, PA).
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter (Gina Volpe), son-in-law (George F. Dinsmore), 4 brothers (Victor, Dominic, Geno, and Anthony Carobine), and 3 sisters (Angelina Rhodes, Mary Yonkofski, and Irene Monte).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Mastrian as celebrant.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.
