Lawrence Harper Smith
1935-2026

Lawrence Harper Smith, age 90, of Reynoldsville, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Born on July 12, 1935 in Reynoldsville, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Helen (Hiles) Smith.

Harper was a proud Navy Veteran, serving active duty from 1956 – 1957, followed by four years reserve duty.

On September 30, 1961, Harper married the love of his life, Caroline (Stewart) Smith, in Reynoldsville, PA.

Harper was retired from Glass Erectors as a glazer, was a member of the Reynoldsville Eagles and Reynoldsville American Legion. He enjoyed spending time mowing his yard, hunting, auto racing and tinkering in his garage. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He survived by a loving family; his wife Caroline, children; Marsha (Rick) Levinson of Brockway, Brian (Melissa) Smith of Reynoldsville and daughter-in-law Lisa Smith. Grandchildren K.C. (Kevin), Jason, Brittany, Hannah, Cody, Lucas, Brandi, Alissa and James and 12 great-grandchildren, a sister Isabelle Zimmerman of DuBois.

Harper was preceded by his parents, son Kevin Smith, a grandson Neko, two sisters Delores Smith, Edna Mae Adamson.
