Laura “Joan” Britton, of Falls Creek, PA died Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
Born on May 17, 1936 in Reynoldsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Emily L. (Thompson) Ward
On November 25, 1961 she married her husband of 64 years, Ronald E. “Herb” Britton. He survives.
She was a 1955 graduate of Reynoldsville High School.
Joan was a homemaker. She had worked at Brockway Glass, Plant 1 for many years.
She was an avid golfer, enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and loved watching the Hallmark Channel, and her soap operas. Joan was a wonderful cook and looked forward to hosting family events and gatherings. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother that will be missed by many.
Along with her husband, Joan is survived by her four children (Kelly Jo Funair and her husband Damian of DuBois, PA, Ronald “Brian” Britton and his wife Bobbie of DuBois, PA, Eric E. Britton and his wife Mary Jo of Punxsutawney, PA, and Michael R. Britton and his wife Renee of Falls Creek, PA), nine grandchildren (Damian Bouch and his wife Em, Zachary Funair, Robert McFadden and his wife Jeane, Shannon McFadden, Garrett and Andrew Britton, and Mason, McKenna and Mallory Britton), two great grandchildren (Gabriel and Felicity Joan Bouch).
She was preceded in death by four sisters, three brothers and her granddaughter (Faith Britton).
As per Joan’s wishes, there will be no public visitation and a funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
