Kenneth Harold Kerr
1957-2025

Kenneth Harold Kerr, 67, of Punxsutawney, passed away on January 14, 2025, at home.

He was born in Punxsutawney on July 22, 1957, a son of the late Dean Howard Kerr and Luva Mae (Reese) Kerr.

Kenny was a 1975 graduate of Jeff Tech.

He worked as a welder for many years at both Jefferson Machine and R&S Machine. Eventually he began to work for himself at Kerr Welding.

He was a talented welder and crafted many beautiful items such as firepits, planters and benches.  His welding skill met his artistic side when he began woodworking.  With precision and attention to detail, he combined both wood and metal and handcrafted many pieces of stunning work, such as tables, trunks, jewelry boxes, and cabinets.

Kenny was a man of few words unless you really knew him. Once you got him talking, he became a wealth of information and ideas.  He had a dry sense of humor with a twist of sarcasm.

He was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles.

Survived by one brother, Donald Kerr of Creekside; one sister, Sharon Kerr of Punxsutawney; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Smeltz, Maxi Pennington, Shannon Kerr, Christopher Kerr and Matthew Wilt; great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephew.

Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Deanna Wilt and Mary Jane “Sam” Kerr.

Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
