Joseph “Joe” Franklin Wolfe, 70, formally of Mahaffey, passed away December 9, 2025 at Shelby An Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Center, Shelby Township, Michigan while under the care of Amber Hospice since August of 2025.
Joseph was born October 4, 1955 in Spangler the son of the late Robert Wolfe, Sr. and Goldie (Peterson) Wolfe.
He graduated from Purchase Line School with the class of 1975. Following graduation Joe worked for Bowsers Lumber Company and Brookville Woods for many years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, wrestling, fishing, hunting, and working on cars. After retirement he started to enjoy simpler things which were working on model kits, diamond art, puzzles, painting, and most of all spending time with his family.
Joe is survived by his niece Traci Wolfe and fiancé Huy Nguyen and their son of MI as well as good friend Rodney (Kathy) Passmore of PA, Uncle Robert “Bob” Peterson of Mahaffey, nieces, nephews, great nephews, and cousins all of PA and his good friend and his chaplain through Amber Hospice, Chad.
In addition to his parents, Joe is also preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, a brother Robert “Bob” Wolfe, Jr., sister-in-law Debra (Swanson) Wolfe and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Mahaffey, PA. Final resting place will be at Mahaffey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, cards and donations will be gratefully received towards the purchase of a headstone by Huy and Traci Nguyen, 404 Shummard Branch, Oxford, MI 48371.
