Joseph Agnello, 91, of DuBois, passed away at Christ the King Manor on March 11.
He was born on December 28, 1934, to the late Anthony Agnello and Josephine (Fernia) Agnello.
On July 25, 1953, he married the love of his life, Clara Perkoski Agnello. They shared sixty-three loving years of marriage until her passing on March 4, 2017. She meant the world to him, and he carried her memory with him always.
Joe was a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anita.
He spent most of his working life employed by the B&O Railroad, where he worked as a brakeman and conductor.
Mr. Agnello was a thoughtful, good-hearted, and pleasant man who loved life and its simple pleasures. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and especially loved polka music. In his younger years, he was known to enjoy singing his favorite polka songs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sons, Anthony Agnello and Phillip Agnello; daughters, Thressa Guinen and Rosemary Agnello; granddaughter, Jennifer Duffield; sisters, Kathrine Balser, Nancy Warden, Genevieve Slovinsky, and Josephine Anderson; and brothers, John, Samuel, Paul, and Leonard Agnello.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Agnello of DuBois; grandchildren, Ashley White, Jerod White, Derek Agnello, Brandi Spence, Amber Agnello, and Josh Agnello; and his brother, Richard Agnello of Punxsutawney.
Friends will be received at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney, on Friday, March 13, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph Riccardo.
Interment will follow at Adrian-Anita Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
