John F. Porrin, age 59 of Falls Creek, PA, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 9th, 2026.
Born on May 12th, 1967 in DuBois, PA, to the late David A. Porrin Sr. and Nancy O. (Emerick) Porrin.
John was a 1985 Graduate of Brockway Area High School. John went on to become the self-employed, and proud owner of John Porrin’s Garage in Falls Creek, PA.
John was affectionately known to many as, “Porky”, “Red Mill Johnee”, and “Mayo Man.” John lived life on his own terms. John will be most remembered for his big heart, though he never refrained from telling you exactly how it was.
John enjoyed going out to eat, especially at Logan’s Quick Lunch and The Bobette Diner. He loved ‘shooting the bull” with friends, John had a great passion for working on and showing off his muscle cars and his beloved “Bronze Bitch” truck, he liked watching a good Western, or any shows with Muscle cars, like Dukes of Hazard.
His family encourages you to enjoy a cold Bud Heavy, a dozen wings, or any sandwich piled high with “extra mayo and lay it on thick” in remembrance of John.
John is survived by siblings Sharon M. Lingenfelter of Reynoldsville, PA, Ruth Ann Strosky and her husband Thomas of DuBois, PA, Ronald B. Porrin and his wife Renee of Falls Creek, PA, and William P. Porrin of Falls Creek, PA, and one brother-in-law Thomas Gilbert Sr. of DuBois, PA. Nieces and nephews Tina, Julie, Stacey, Carrie, David Jr., Jamie, Justin, Cody, Nancy, Sue Ann, Kimberly, Tommy Jr., Angela, Kelly, Jessica, Shane, Richard, and Michael.
John was also survived by 51 great nieces and nephews, and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was proceeded in death by one brother, David A. Porrin Jr., two sisters, Susan L. Porrin and Diana L. Gilbert, two nephews TJ “Thomas” Strosky and Ronald Porrin Jr., and two great nieces Kiara Valentin and Ruby Porrin.
There will be no public visitation and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
