1941-2026
John “Cy” Sitosky, 85, Sykesville, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 at his residence. He was born January 01, 1941 in Stump Creek; a son of the late John & Anna (Senott) Sitosky.
Cy leaves behind three children, John Sitosky Jr. of Sykesville, Loretta Peer of VA and Michael Sitosky of Brockway, a sister Regina Kilmer of DuBois, one grandson Carter Sitosky and his ex-wife & best friend Carol Sitosky who had been assisting with his care over the last few years.
John had played ball with the Minnesota Twins minor league until a knee injury caused him to stop playing. He has always loved watching baseball and softball games whether it was High School or College games. He had previously worked at DuBois Central Catholic School as a custodian.
John was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by a daughter Cathy, a baby brother John and a baby sister Lillian and four sisters, Delores Sitosky, Irene Duda, Gloria Bowers and Anna Marie Fairman.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 2pm until 4pm at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. A Memorial Service will follow on Monday at 4pm at the funeral home with Fr. John Malthaner officiating. Burial will take place in A.B.V.M. Church Cemetery.
