Jean Marie Koromaus
1943-2026

Jean Marie Koromaus, 82, of Hollidaysburg and formally of DeLancey, passed away peacefully at Altoona Hospital from complications with pneumonia, with her family by her side.

Jean was born at home in DeLancey with her twin sister, Joan Marie Kriser, on March 22, 1943, whom she shared a very special bond from the time they were born until the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Andy and Helen Kolson.

Jean married her loving husband, Theodore “Ted” Koromaus on June 7, 1969. They made their home in Hollidaysburg, PA where Ted started his career as a PA State Trooper. They had a lovely home with a beautiful inground swimming pool where many gathered for special occasions. They enjoyed 57 years together. Ted survives and resides in Hollidaysburg.

Jean was a beautiful woman who was always well put together, dressed in the latest fashion. She particularly enjoyed crafting where she would paint ceramics and create flower arrangements for weddings and other occasions. She also had her license as a nail tech. Jean loved her dogs and was especially fond of the Lhasa Apso breed.

Jean loved her family and would plan events, especially the Dubensky-Kolson Family reunion-where she had shirts made for everyone.

In addition to Ted, she is survived by two children, Theodore “Jason” Koromaus and Richelle Koromaus of Hollidaysburg and two grandchildren, Damian and Brandon, one brother, Tom (Janet) Kolson of Beaver Falls, and two sisters, Magdeline “Micky” (Patsy) Mesoraco of DeLancey and Joan Kriser of DeLancey. She is also survived by sister-in-law,’s Helen “Doug” Morris and Sandy Kolson and brother-in-law’s, Lawrence “Larry” Kopas and Frank Mozina and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn “Sissy” Kopas, and one brother, Ted Kolson, along with sister-in-law’s, Elizabeth “Ish” Mozina, Elaine Koromaus, Loretta Koromaus and brothers-in-law’s, Joe Koromaus, John Koromaus, and Ron Kriser. She also was preceded in death by a special godchild, Robyn Kriser.

Family and friends will be received from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Fait - d’Argy Funeral Home, 117 N. Jefferson St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

A Divine Liturgy will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 714 Sutton St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, celebrated by Father Vasyl Kadar, beginning at 11am.

Interment will follow at SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
