Janet L. Dinsmore, age 77 of Penfield, PA , died suddenly, Sunday, January 18, 2026 at her brother’s home.
Born on May 19, 1948 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jack J. and Lena C. (Carobine) Volpe.
On June 17, 1972 she married George F. Dinsmore. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1983.
Janet graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies.
She retired as a Care Manager from the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging after 17 years of service. Previous to that, she had worked in the offices of Stackpole Carbon in St. Marys for many years.
Janet was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Force, PA.
She loved to cook and enjoyed family dinners together. Being with family was her greatest joy, especially her grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her children (Marc Dinsmore and his wife Laura of new Kensington, PA, and Angela Dinsmore Slowikowski and her husband Mark of Tarentum, PA), two grandchildren (Garrett and Landon Slowikowski), and three brothers (Jack Volpe of Clearfield, PA, Greg Volpe and his wife Rosanne of Falls Creek, PA, and David Volpe and his wife Jonell of DuBois, PA).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 10:30 AM from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Force, PA with Father Mark Mastian as celebrant.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.
