George Joseph Tobin
1953-2026
George Joseph Tobin, a devoted father, proud Philadelphian, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in DuBois at the age of 73.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, George carried his love for his home town throughout his life. George protected and served his beloved community as a member of the Philadelphia Police Department, where he served honorably for 24 years.
Beyond the uniform, George was a man of gentle routines and meaningful moments. He found peace outdoors, hunting and fishing with his brothers. Some of his daughters’ most cherished memories are of sitting beside him on the water, watching their lines and sharing Tastykakes.
He was happiest aboard his boat, especially with his beloved wife, Fran, by his side. Their time together was filled with laughter, companionship, and a bond that endured through the years. When he wasn’t boating or traveling, George could often be found at the gun range, practicing with the same precision and focus that defined every part of his life.
George is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Frances (Pacchiarotti) Tobin; his parents, Joseph and Mary (Walsh) Tobin; his brother, Michael Tscherniawsky; and his sister, Patricia (Perez) Regulski.
He leaves behind a family who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
They include his brothers: Joseph Tobin and William Perez; his daughters: Jennifer Tobin, Jaclyn Tobin, and Stephanie (Tobin) Pettinato and her husband, Michael Pettinato; his six cherished grandchildren: Harrison, Mitchell, Connor, Michael, Bella, and Giada.
George’s legacy is one of steadfast love, quiet devotion, and unwavering service. He was a protector and a steady presence in the lives of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s honor to the Fraternal Order of Police Survivors Fund.
The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
