1934-2026
Frank John Luketich, Jr., 92, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at McKinley Health Center.
He was born in Punxsutawney on June 19, 1934, a son of the late Frank John Luketich, Sr. and Susan (White) Luketich.
Mr. Luketich served as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955.
On November 02, 1963, he married Ann Cholak. They enjoyed fifty-one years of marriage prior to her death on May 12, 2014.
Frank began working for the B&O Railroad in 1955. He left the railroad and worked for several years as field superintendent for Prepokt Concrete of Cleveland, Ohio until 1974. He returned to the C&O Railroad working as a conductor and eventually retired from B&P Railroad in 1996. He was a dedicated hardworker and enjoyed his career.
His enjoyments were traveling and fine dining with his wife. He also enjoyed cooking and working in the garden.
He is survived by several nieces.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by two brothers, George and William Luketich; four sisters; Margaret Bish, Violet Hathazy, Dorothy Leasure and Jean Capozzoli; two nephews, William “Bill” Luketich, Jr. and Lawrence Luketich.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Friday, August 07, 2026, at Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Cemetery, celebrated by Father Vasyl Kadar.
