Eva Mae (Plotner) McKillip, 97, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, surrounded by family at her home. Eva was born on August 2, 1925, to the late Cecil Bruce and Mable Lillian (Wingard) Plotner in Munderf, PA. Eva married Chauncey “Chick” Alvin McKillip on March 9, 1946, in Brookville, PA; Chick preceded her in passing. Eva worked at Brockway Glass throughout her career. She was a member of Munderf Methodist Church, W.C.T.U., and the Richardsville Ladies Aide. Eva was a rooted member of her church and held multiple positions within it over the years. She enjoyed being outside and chose to live in a naturally beautiful setting. Above all else, Eva loved her family and spent most of her time with them. She always looked forward to shopping trips with her daughters. Eva loved spending time with her many grandchildren and was often called “Grandma the Great” by many of her great grandchildren. She always made sure her family was well taken care of and personally served Sunday Dinners to the entire family. Eva will be dearly missed by her family and community. Eva is survived by four children; Beverley (Conrad) Backlarz; Karen G. McKillip; Bonnie G. (Dennis) Long; Chickie D. (Fred) Fleming; one sister; Ruth Lucille (Plotner) Uplinger; ten grandchildren; Candice Backlarz; Jennifer (Jack) Monnoyer; Eric (Betsy) Long; Gretchen (Derek) Davis; Shelby Barnacastle; Jessica (Josh) McKinley; Jeffrey (Shannon) Lyons; Brad (Staci) Lyons; Chase (Vanessa) Shick; Laurie (Dave) Brouwer; sixteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Eva was preceded in passing by three siblings; Harold Plotner; Clinton Plotner; and Margaret Jane Shaffer. Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 4pm to 8pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A second viewing will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023, also at the funeral home from 10am to 11am. A funeral service will take place immediately following the second visitation, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Reverend Glenn McQuown.
