Ethelyene “Eileen” Harris-Smith, 81, DuBois, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Snyder Memorial Health Care in Marienville, PA.
Born April 29, 1943, in Hazlehurst, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Eloise (Mathews) Maddox.
Eileen graduated from Titusville High School. She was a secretary at the Pentagon. Eileen enjoyed yard-saling, antiquing, and music. She was an avid bingo player.
Eileen is survived by two sons, Charles (Karen) Walker, Chambersburg, PA, and Wil-Gravatt, Fredericksburg, VA, three grandchildren, and two sisters, Janice Carringer, Brasstown, NC, and Diana Maddox Wilcox, Atlanta, GA.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Atkinson, grandson, Alex Walker, and two brothers, Freddy and Jimmy Hugh Maddox.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. from the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. from the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery in Hazlehurst, GA.
