Edward “Ed” Russell Mowrey, age 91, of DuBois, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Christ the King Manor.
Born on February 17, 1935, in Hormtown, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Moore) Mowrey.
On June 2, 1956, Ed married Matilda “Tillie” Snyder in Hazen, Pa. She preceded him in passing on November 5, 2018.
Ed graduated from the DuBois Area High School, worked as a machinist at Ericson’s, was Methodist by faith, enjoyed bowling, farming, camping, traveling and spending time with his children.
He is survived by his loving family; Cindy L. Rozyle of Reynoldsville, Russell E. Mowrey of Reynoldsville, Beth A. (Robert) Spicher of Tennessee and Dennis R. (Ray Sager) Mowrey of Pittsburgh, two grandchildren; Kimberly Marshall and Tabitha Rozyle, three great-grandchildren Vinnie Dilullo, Ethan Marshall and Ava Rozyle, two brothers; Walter (Shelvy) Mowrey of Reynoldsville, Allen Michael (Linda) Mowrey of Reynoldsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife Ed was preceded in passing by his brother Jim Mowrey and sisters Carol Reed, Jean Strouse and Glenda Thompson.
Friends and family will be received at the Adamson Funeral Chapel & Crematorium on Sunday April 26, 2026, from 5 – 7 PM, and again on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 10 Am until the time of service at 11 AM from the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Lakelawn Cemetery.
