Donald Gene “Donnie” Marsico, 79, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, while at his home surrounded by his loving family. Don was born on May 3, 1946, to the late Samuel Marsico and Dorthy (Weible) Caltagarone in Pittsburgh, PA. Don served honorably in the United States Army from 1967 to 1973 where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He served in the Vietnam Conflict where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Marksman Rifle Badge. Don married Theresa Rall on February 12, 1972, in Pittsburgh; Theresa survives him. He worked for Harry Osman Heating and Cooling, Burke Parson & Bowley, Caltagarone Mines, and on the railroad for ConRail. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Reynoldsville and the American Legion #392. Don was also a boxer in the Pittsburgh Golden Glove. His favorite hobby was working on motorcycles, cars, and trucks. He loved spending time with and training his German Shepards; they were a huge part of his life. He was a lighthearted man, always joking and trying to make others laugh. He had many nicknames such as: Smiley, Stump, Fred, and Whitie. Don was always willing to stop along the road to help a stranger out anytime of the day. He enjoyed collecting knives and rocks. He was taught to respect his elders and made sure he instilled the same values in his children. Above all else, he loved to spend time with his family and friends. Don’s family requests that if you knew him and have a story about Don, that it be shared with them and to continue to share stories with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by two children: Dawn (John) Eisman and Antonio (Jenn) Marsico; five siblings: Samuel Marsico, Margaret Brewer, Butch Peterman, Lee Peterman, and Maryann Caltagarone. Don is also survived by six grandchildren: Jacob (Alyssa) Eisman, Austin Marsico, Alexis (Izsak) Kerner, Michael Eisman, AJ Nicastro, and Nick Nicastro; and three great-grandchildren: Layla Eisman, Aliyah Eisman, and Micah Kerner. In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in passing by two sons: Shawn Charles Marsico and Michael Paul Marsico. Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA, 15851. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 607 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851.
