1961-2026
Diana Lynn Gilbert passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, surrounded by her family at the DuBois Nursing Home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in DuBois on February 26, 1961, she was the daughter of David A. Porrin Sr. and Nancy O. Emerick Porrin.
Diana was previously employed by Best Western and C/J Packaging. In recent months, Diana found comfort and inspiration in reading the Bible and attending Soldier Community Church. She loved meeting new people and striking up conversations, even with strangers, especially if it meant sharing her strong opinions on Republican politics. Getting her off the phone was impossible, and those long talks will be deeply missed.
Diana enjoyed quick casino trips with her husband and daughters, playing the lottery and buying scratch-off tickets, basking in the sun, and getting food from local eateries. She also treasured spending time with her close friends Barbara Booker, Karen Beckwith, and Lisa Irwin. She adored her dogs, Buddy, Precious, and Malachi, who brought her a lot of joy.
Diana is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas K. Gilbert Sr.; her four daughters, Nancy (Roger) Walk, Sue Gilbert, Kimberly (Derek) Stoneberg, and Angela Gilbert (Dylan Nelson); her son, Thomas (Megan) Gilbert Jr.; two sisters, Ruth (Tom) Strosky and Sharon Lingenfelter; three brothers, Ronald Porrin, John Porrin, and William Porrin; and many nieces and nephews. She assisted in raising thirteen grandchildren and was blessed with one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, David, and a sister, Susan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Diana to Leo Nedza Funeral Home. Online condolences & donations can be made at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com .
