Derek M. Bowser, 36, of DuBois, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026. He was born July 7, 1989 in DuBois; a son of Kenneth M. Douglas of Reynoldsville and Jennifer L. Bowser of Clearfield.
In addition to his parents, Derek also leaves behind his beloved daughter Mercedes L. Bowser of RI, who was the light of his life, a sister Destiny R. Douglas of Greensburg, maternal grandmother Janet “Joyce” Bowser of DuBois, fiancé Rachel Carlson of DuBois, and his loyal dog Ozzy who never left his side.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and the freedom it brought him. He loved hunting, fishing, driving, and riding ATV’s and above all else Derek cherished his family and friends and was the lite of his mother and grandmother. He will be remembered for the strong bonds he made.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 2pm until 4pm at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. Services will follow at the funeral home at 4pm with Rev. Phil Colgan officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com .
