Dennis Gauding, 73, Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital. He was born September 25, 1952, in Ravenna, OH; a son of the late Lester F. & Violet Rose (Leibforth) Gauding. He married Alice A. (Campbell) Gauding, she survives in Punxsutawney.
Dennis’s oldest brother was Lester Harland Gauding (deceased). His wife is Phyllis Decker Gauding of Ravenna, Ohio. Their sons were Timothy Gauding (deceased) and Jeffery Gauding (deceased). His sister was Cheryl Gauding Smith (deceased). Her son is Jason Smith of Las Cruces, NM. His wife is Sherryl Smith. Their children are Lynn Smith and Jacob Smith. Her daughter is Janeen Smith Jansen. Sister-Wendy Gauding Lyon (Thomas N Lyon Jr), nephews- William Edward Lyon, Thomas N Lyon III, niece- Katherine Anne Lyon Huffman Yongue. Step-son Steve Brugmann (wife Kristen Brugmann), daughters Jennifer, Claylynn, and Savannah Brugmann, and 5 great grandchildren, Stepson James Brugmann and daughter Violet, daughter Kristal Rose Gauding and sons Larry W O'Dell III, Jeremy D O'Dell (Jocelyn Larson), Aaron B O'Dell, son Allen M Gauding, and son Caleb and daughter Penelope.
Dennis had two step-daughters, that include Bethany Corso, whose children are Xandra, Olencia, and Trey Corso. And Jillian Greenelee, whose children are Isacc Corso, Madeline Corso, and Lainie Greenelee. And he had a step-son, Ryan Fox. He also had two great-granddaughters who are due this spring.
Dennis also leaves behind a Special Caregiver, Chaka Dominck and a Special friend, Haylee Noble.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents: Lester F Gauding and Violet Rose Leibforth Gauding, his brother Lester H Gauding, his sister Cheryl Gauding Smith, his nephews Timothy Gauding and Jeffery Gauding, and his granddaughter Shianne-Nicole Rose O’Dell.
