Charles M. “Max” Rugh
1943-2025
Charles M. “Max” Rugh, age 82 of Reynoldsville, PA died Saturday, December 6, 2025 at his home.
Born on June 21, 1943 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Phyllis (Dilts) Rugh.
On May 22, 1993 he married Betsy (Skehan) Wolfgang Rugh. She survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Airforce.
Max retired from T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil after over a 40- year career. He was also a senior contractor and consultant for Commonwealth Press.
Max was Protestant by faith. He was a member of the Reynoldsville American Legion, Eagles and Elks, and loved his Parkinson’s Disease boxing groups and friends. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, woodworking, and working in his yard. Max especially loved participating in the Run/Walk for Someone Special, and attending his grandchildren’s many activities. Above all, his most important title was family man.
Along with his wife, Max is survived by his children (Marc Wolfgang and his wife Becky of Holliston, MA, Kerri Presloid and her husband Joe of Punxsutawney, PA, Erin Morgan and her husband Dennis of Grampian, PA, Susan Fila of Berwin, IL, Dan Rugh and his wife Shannon of Pittsburgh, PA, and Eric Wolfgang and his wife Lindsay of DuBois, PA), thirteen grandchildren (Hannah, Mia, Greta, Tyler and his wife Meghan, Ryan, Ben, Dane, Brynn and her fiancé Kory States, Amelia, Eden, Jeremy, Kylie and Liam), four sisters (Brenda Cuba and her husband Bill, Jean Swartz and her husband Bugsy, JoAnn Hunger and her husband John, and Kelli Meterko and her husband Todd), and one brother (Dick Rugh and his wife Anna).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 4 – 7 pm at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 12 pm from the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.
