Beatrice J. “Bea” Prosper, Age 73 of Falls Creek, PA died Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Family Hospice at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born on July 15, 1952 in Coudersport, PA, she was the daughter of the late James E. Furman and Beverly J. (Johnson) Lakes.
On September 18, 1971, she married Sam F. Prosper. He preceded her in death on , April 12, 2013.
Bea retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the office of Dr. Siar after many years of service. Previous to that, she had worked at the office of Dr. Yoo.
Bea was an avid sports fan and could be found always rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins as well as the Penn State Nittany Lions. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was active at DuBois Central Catholic. Bea enjoyed her monthly lunch dates with the “Bingo Girls” and monthly breakfast with her friends. Above all, her family was her life, especially her grandchildren.
Bea is survived by a son (Jim Prosper & his wife Carrie of DuBois, PA), a daughter (Megan Hannum and her husband Donald of Falls Creek, PA), five grandchildren (Isaac Prosper, Lexi and Luke Shermer, and Samantha and Jaxon Hannum), a brother (Earl Furman of Litiz, PA), two sisters (Diane Furman and Cindy Norman, both of Erie, PA), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church at St. Michael the Archangel with Fr. John Malthaner as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
