Barbara J. Spellen, Age 70 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born on June 26, 1956 in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and A. Joann (Walls) Kerfoot. Barb was married to Joseph Spellen. He preceded her in death. Barb worked at Ames Department Store and Clearfield-Jefferson Head Start. She was a past member of the DuBois Alliance Church and loved animals of all kinds. She especially loved riding horses. Barb is survived by a son, William Guthrie and his wife Kasey of Missouri; a brother, John Kerfoot of DuBois, PA; a sister, Debbie Cole and her husband Steve of Lena, IL; and 3 grandchildren, Cameron, Jackson, and Ella. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Guthrie.
There will be no public visitation and a service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be placed with the Gateway Humane Society, P.O. Box 678, Falls Creek, PA 15840.
