Woodland man faces up to 12 years in prison on assault and firearm charges

CLEARFIELD – A Woodland man will be serving a maximum of 12 years in state prison on felony assault and firearm charges.

In Clearfield County Court Wednesday, 60-year-old Ralph Best finally faced sentencing after he was returned to the area by law enforcement officers from the state of Oklahoma.

Best reportedly fled from Clearfield County to Oklahoma last June, and he failed to show up for court proceedings in July and August.

Additional charges of eluding capture by leaving the area are expected to be filed against Best.
