Woman flown to hospital after I-80 Brookville crash

Brookville, PA – A New York state woman had to be flown to the hospital after a crash on I-80 near Brookville.

50-year-old Nancy Rosa from Dunkirk, NY, had been driving on I-80 eastbound near mile marker 79 around 9 a.m. Feb. 11.

She had been attempting to pass a Peterbilt truck in her Subaru Outback, but she lost control and struck the truck’s fuel tank and then struck a guiderail.

Rose was flown to UPMC Altoona for her injuries. She had not been wearing her seat belt.

Her passenger, 47-year-old Blanca Viera from Dunkirk, was taken by ambulance to Penn Highlands Brookville for minor injuries.

The truck driver, 36-year-old Cody Wenger from Denver, PA, was not injured.

Rosa is being charged for driving at an unsafe speed.
