Winter weather causes vaccine delays throughout United States

Pennsylvania – Because of the recent winter weather, vaccine deliveries could have been temporarily affected, but PEMA Director Randy Padfield said there fortunately wasn’t any major disruption of getting vaccination doses where they needed to go.

Although vaccine deliveries in Pennsylvania remained largely unaffected so far, PA Department of Health COVID-19 Advisor Luindsey Mauldin says on a larger scale vaccine doses throughout the United States were delayed.

If you do have a vaccine appointment scheduled within the next week or so, you should confirm the time with your provider.

PEMA Director Randy Padfield, State Meteorologist Jeff Jumper, PennDOT Deputy Secretary for Highway Administration Melissa Batula and Department of Health Senior Advisor for COVID-19 Response Lindsey Mauldin held a media-only conference call to discuss the commonwealth’s response to the snowstorm that is affecting much of the state, and an update on the storm’s impact on COVID-19 vaccine delivery and distribution.
