DUBOIS – For the first time since 1910, the DuBois Fire Department has gained new member companies.
It was announced Monday that West Sandy and North Point have now officially joined the DuBois Fire Department as their 6th and 7th members.
“We had agreed, when this whole process started, that it made sense for the Fire Department to be unified under one administrative build,“ explained Fire Chief John Kelsey
“This is an excellent addition,” stated Department President Mike Federici. “It’s just moving towards better fire protection. It’s a good thing, it’s very positive.”
This is the first time a company has joined DuBois since Goodwill in 1910. Chief Kelsey and President Federici hope that the remaining two Sandy Township Fire Departments will join DuBois as well.
