BENEZETTE – A forest fire in Benezette over the weekend spanned around an acre before being put out by fire crews.
According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, the fire broke out along Winslow Hill Road and began to spread quickly.
Crews were quickly able to stop the blaze with less than an acre being affected.
Elk viewing areas and habitats were not impacted by the blaze.
