Celebrate a summer full of life! There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive today, July 23 from 2 until 7 p.m. at Cobblestone Hotel and Suites in Punxsutawney. Appointments via RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. When you donate in July, you’ll get an email for a $10 Amazon gift card and the chance to win gas for a year!

2021 Corner Concert Series is every Friday during summer at the Lower Whitmer Park “corner park” in Clearfield, 7 until 9 p.m. for a free, fun night of music. Donations will be collected, if you would like to give back. July 23 – Twin Reverb (classic rock)

Unique Boutique will be having a Grand Opening event July 23 and 24 in celebration of their new store in Downtown DuBois. Enjoy light refreshments and enter into a basket giveaway curated by Unique Boutique themselves! Open to the public, regular store hours: Friday 10-6 and Saturday 9-3 at 17 North Brady Street in DuBois.

Come to the Relay for Life of DuBois on Saturday, July 24 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. at the DuBois City Park! The theme this year is… Christmas in July! Support the Relay for Life and raise money for the American Cancer Society and people who have been affected by cancer. It will be a day filled with activities for all ages, Relay team fundraising, entertainment, and local vendors.

The 20th annual and FINAL Buddy Wagoner and “Stretch” Spencer Memorial Bike Run will be Saturday, July 24. 100 percent of the proceeds benefit our local Make-A-Wish, providing magical wishes to kids dealing with life-threatening illnesses. Starts at Over the Mountain Restaurant in Rockton, with kick stands up at noon on Saturday. Donation is still only $15 and includes food, beverages, and live music at the pavilion.

The Downtown DuBois Farmers Market will run each Saturday through October from 8 until 11 a.m. It’s always held in Downtown DuBois at the corner of Brady Street and Long Avenue (Pershing parking lot). Fresh locally grown produce, homemade baked goods, local honey, jams and jellies, goat milk fudge, handmade products, and more.

Wicked Warrior is back! WPAL will be hosting this annual obstacle course/mud run in Treasure Lake the weekend of July 23 and 24! This event features a 10K Main Course, 5K Intermediate Course, Kid’s Obstacle Course for children ages 3-9, and a foot slide. Cost is $50 for early start, $30 for regular start, and free for kids! To register, visit www.wickedwarrior.org. Proceeds from this event will benefit programs at the WPAL.

The Tour de Varacallo Bicycle Race and Memory Walk will be held in person this year! The bike race will start at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 25 at the DuBois YMCA. A memory walk will also be held there, with registration from 7 until 8 a.m. Cost is $25 and benefits the Dr. Albert Varacallo Foundation and scholarships.

The Randy Curley Sr. scholarship golf fundraiser is Sunday, July 25 at Beechwoods Golf Course in Falls Creek. Start time is 11 a.m. with a 4-person scramble. The cost is $75, which includes cart and catered meal. The Randy Curley Sr. Memorial Scholarship goes to a senior of DuBois Area High School each year who is a DAHS football player, band member, or Boy Scout. Register for the golf fundraiser by July 19.

Are you pregnant or have an infant under one year old? Catholic Charities can provide free diapers for the entire year before your child’s first birthday. There are no income guidelines and anyone can receive these diapers if they have a child under 1 year old. Throughout the month of July, they’re collecting baby supplies for their annual Diaper Drive! Check to see if your church is participating or drop-off at 2 W Long Ave.
