Weedville Man Charged After Standoff

WEEDVILLE – A Weedville man is now facing charges after he reportedly barricaded himself inside a home after threatening troopers.

According to police, 40 year-old Jackson Howard had called 911 at around 9:52am Tuesday Morning. The phone call was concerning dispatchers, who sent troopers to check on him.

Once on scene police confronted Howard who allegedly became hostile and threatened troopers before barricading himself at 18566 Bennets Valley Highway.

Troopers then closed off a lengthy section of road, and called in the State Police Special Emergency Response Team, until he ultimately surrendered to Police after around 9 hours.

He is now facing felony aggravated assault charges
