DUBOIS — The DuBois Area School District’s Wasson Elementary School is being recognized nationally as a Blue Ribbon School for 2023.
Wasson earned the distinction based on its overall academic performance, and the progress it is making in closing achievement gaps among student groups.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, Wasson is one of only 13 schools in Pennsylvania being recognized this year as a National Blue Ribbon School.
Some special celebrations are being planned at Wasson Elementary School to mark the achievement.
The official award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Washington D.C. in November.
