Wanted New York Man Caught in Alleged Lawrence Township Break-in

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP – A New York State man has been jailed after allegedly trying to flee from police after attempting to break into a Lawrence Township building.

At around 7am Wednesday police responded to a suspicious person complaint along the Clearfield Shawville Highway. Once on scene police saw a man, later identified as Dustin Thomas, allegedly trying to break into a building.

Officers then attempted to take Thomas into custody when he allegedly tried to flee.

After catching up to him, police learned that Thomas was wanted by the U.S. Marshals for weapon charges in West Virginia.

He was then taken to the Clearfield County Jail where he is awaiting extradition.
