DUBOIS – Dozens of people turned out to the DuBois City Park Saturday morning to show support for curing Alzheimer’s.
This year’s event saw dozens of supporters walking in unison to raise awareness of the common deadly disorder.
According to Dan Kolbe with the Alzheimer’s Association and organizer of this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the annual event is meant to help raise funds to eventually beat the brain disorder.
“I think it gives people hope,“ explained Kolbe. “A lot of the people that are here have a connection to the disease in some form or fashion. Getting together with other people that have gone or are going through similar things just gives them hope that we have a sense of community that we can beat this disease.”
In the end, no one has yet to beat Alzheimer’s, however that does not deter Kolbe from hoping one day things will be different.
