DUBOIS – You are invited to join your peers to raise awareness for a life changing disease.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s aims to honor those that have fallen victim to the disease, as well as raise awareness and support those facing the illness.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, Alzheimer’s is a form of dementia that affects the part of the brain that controls thoughts, memories, and language.
On average close to seven million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, in Pa alone almost 300,000 individuals suffer from the illness.
This year’s walk is scheduled for Saturday September 14th starting at 9am at the DuBois City Park.
As of reporting, over 100 people are participating with 17 teams signed up. You can register anytime on their website.
