UNDATED – Visitors are making a positive economic impact on the Pennsylvania Wilds, which includes Clearfield, Jefferson, and Elk counties.
According to a new Tourism Economics report, a record-breaking $2.1-billion was spent by those who visited the PA Wilds region in 2024, and the total economic impact of the visitor economy hit $3.29-billion last year.
The PA Wilds is home to more than 2-million acres of public land and a growing outdoor recreation economy. Since the Tourism Economics report began 15 years ago, every county in the PA Wilds has seen growth in visitor spending, taxes collected in tourism categories, and tourism-related employment.
