CLEARFIELD – A Virginia man is behind bars after police say he allegedly fled from authorities and became combative Sunday.
According to the Clearfield Regional Police Department, officers noticed a gray SUV driving erratically throughout Clearfield.
When officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on Bigler Avenue, the vehicle allegedly fled to East 6th Street coming to a stop.
Officers say the driver, later identified as a 32 year-old Virginia man, allegedly jumped from the driver’s seat to the back of the vehicle, in an attempt to fool authorities.
The man was then placed under arrest and taken to the hospital for a warrant blood alcohol test, the man then allegedly became combative with hospital staff.
He is now behind bars on DUI and other related charges.
