Victim of fatal motorcycle crash publicly identified

Rose Township, PA – The motorcyclist killed in a crash Monday has been publicly identified.

49-year-old Travis Haenel from Punxsutawney had been driving that motorcycle on Route 36 in Rose Township near Brookville around noon Monday when he got into a two-vehicle accident with a pickup truck.

Haenel suffered fatal injuries. His passenger, who remains unnamed, was taken to UPMC Altoona for serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

Police had been waiting to release the name until after Haenel’s family was notified.

More details on the exact circumstances of the crash are expected to be released within the next few days.
