Veteran-owned, small businesses in Pennsylvania may receive special contracting opportunity

SHARE NOW

Harrisburg – Small, veteran-owned businesses in Pennsylvania may soon have a special contracting opportunity restored.

Prior to 2015, veteran owned, small businesses in the state were given prime contracting opportunities through the Department of General Services’ Small Diverse Business program.

Governor Tom Wolf’s administration eliminated that opportunity seven years ago.

A bill which has already been approved by the House in Harrisburg would specify that veteran-owned businesses would not be required to seek separate small business verification to be considered a small, diverse business.

The bill is pending action in the Pennsylvania Senate.
