United States – Many large stores will allow shoppers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to shop without masks. This includes that majority of Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, and Trader Joe’s locations.

Other stores are also allowing their shopping to go maskless as well, as long as the shopper is fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Store employees will not be asking any customer to show proof that they are vaccinated. Instead, the ask that you please show common courtesy, be honest, and help keep others safe if you are not fully vaccinated.

On Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that fully vaccinated people don’t have to wear masks or practice social distancing indoors or outdoors, except when in healthcare settings, on public transportation, or in other areas where governments require masks.

However, people will still need to follow workplace and local businesses’ mask guidance. Businesses can still require anyone inside their building, vaccinated or not, to continue to wear a mask.

Some companies, such as Walmart, are incentivizing their employees to get vaccinated. Most Walmart employees are eligible for a $75 bonus if they provide proof that they are fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated Walmart staff will also be able to ditch the mask while working starting Tuesday, May 18.

For any store that you enter, be kind to the employees and follow their current company policy that is posted on the doors.
