
St. Marys, PA – UPDATE: The woman who was killed in a house fire in Saint Marys has been identified.
The Elk County coroner’s office says 85-year-old Margaret Cavalline died of smoke inhalation after a fire on Ash Street on Tuesday afternoon.
Her death has been ruled as accidental.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire, which started in the kitchen area.

Multiple fire stations were called to the fire just before 5 p.m. Tuesday on Ash Street in Saint Marys.
First responders attempted CPR on the person who was found in the home.
The reported victim’s name has not been released, only listing the residents of the house as an 85-year-old woman and an 84-year-old man.
Damage is estimated at $100,000.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
