U.S. Attorney’s Office indicts Clearfield man on explosive charges

JOHNSTOWN – The U.S. Attorney’s Office says a Clearfield County man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of possessing an explosive device and conspiring to use that explosive to destroy property.

Federal authorities are accusing 46-year-old Kris Nevling, who is currently serving time in a state prison on unrelated offenses.

If Nevling is found guilty on the federal charges, he could face a maximum total sentence of life in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.

The indictment of Nevling is the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives into a 2019 incident.
