BROOKVILLE – Two Jefferson County women are in prison after police found a missing 1-year-old child in Brookville Wednesday.
According to court documents, 27-year old Tarra Rand and 50-year-old Cindy Rand face multiple charges including child endangerment, interfering with child custody, assault, and terroristic threats.
When social workers tried to remove the young girl from a Brookville apartment where the Rands lived, Cindy reportedly threatened their lives and Tarra barricaded herself in a bathroom.
Police arrived at the scene and were able to safely remove the child, and take both Rand women into custody.
Tarra Rand is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on $50,000 bail.
Cindy Rand is also jailed in Jefferson County with bail set at $100,000.
Both have preliminary hearings scheduled for Tuesday.
